My strengths are in helping others figure out assignments and in using technology. Several of us supported each other this semester, and we all needed this help. It was good to be able discuss issues with my cohort in class. I am also good at time management and was glad I started early on assignments, as I needed every spare minute, which became almost too hectic for me. I am pretty good at doing APA style and like to do it by hand to get better at it, and I do not like using a generator. I think I am getting better at it, but some periods, commas, and quotations still slipped by.
My weaknesses are in organizing my thoughts into a logical flow from one paragraph to the next, though I think I improved quite a bit on this. With more time spent asking professors and students about my outline, I think I will be able to reorganize my literature review into a decent research topic and direction for my dissertation. My understanding of my research interests and topic changed dramatically this semester as I uncovered research I did not even know existed and made me think more about what I had surmised at the beginning of my literature review research. I still do not have my ideas fully formed enough to explain them well to a reader so they know what I am trying to accomplish because of this new information. I need to spend lots of time rereading my research and organizing it so I can verify that what the research states is valid.
